WINTER GRADE FUEL

WCF Chandlers would like to keep you informed when diesel fuels change from summer to winter specification.

All Diesel fuels are manufactured to a British standard. This specification contains seasonal requirements for summer & winter.

Summer grade fuel is available from 16th March to 15th November     -4°c

Winter grade fuel is available from   16th November to 15th March   - 12°c

When ordering your winter grade fuel it is important that there is no summer grade fuel still in your storage tank. As the summer quality fuel at the bottom of the tank will have poorer cold properties than the pure winter grade product, it is recommended that the entire volume of the tank meets winter specification before the start of any cold weather.

It is also essential to ensure that all fuels are not contaminated by the presence of water or bacteria.

In the event that you have summer grade fuels we are able to supply additives to improve the winter protection. Please note that these only work if added while the fuel temperature is 13 degrees or above.

Should you require any advice please give your local office a call.
