How do WCF Chandlers Village Buying Groups Work? 

Every village within our distribution area is scheduled to receive a set delivery each month from January to November. By combining orders within your village, we can lower the distribution costs; these savings are then passed onto you, resulting in lower oil prices. 

How are WCF Chandlers Village Buying Groups better for my local environment? 

By grouping local orders together and delivering on set days, we can reduce the amount of heavy-goods traffic in local communities. Let’s say a village has 15 buying group members who all order fuel in September. If each person’s order was placed on their local WCF Chandlers Buying Group, rather than individually ordering, we could potentially cut the number of delivery tankers making journeys into the area from 15 to 1. By cutting down the number of heavy-goods traffic in local communities, we can reduce the wear and tear to small village lanes and roads, plus reduce pollution in the local environment.     

Is there a joining fee? 

No, that is the best part about our groups. Unlike third-party consortiums, our Village Buying Groups are FREE and simple to join.    

Do I have to order heating oil each month? 

No, you are under NO obligation to place an order with us. We will simply let you know via SMS or email that we are coming to your village and should you wish to be part of that delivery, you can call to let us know by calling 01476 576200 or completing our easy-to-use web form.  

What about the price, do I pay more to order a smaller amount of heating oil?

Our minimum order is 500 litres and there is NO price difference for small volumes, so you won’t be penalised if your order is smaller than others in your village, and we won’t charge you a service or delivery fee when you do order! The price per litre is set a few days before delivery. The reason we price so close to the delivery date is to achieve the most competitive price possible once we know exactly how many deliveries are to be made to each village buying group. 

How do I pay? 

You must provide debit or credit card details at the time of order to reserve your slot so pre-authorisation payment can be taken. Final payment is taken after delivery, and we will only charge you based on the actual quantity delivered.

What if I want to spread the cost of my heating oil with a Payment Plan? Can I still join my local oil buying group? 

Yes, we also offer a Monthly Savers Payment Plan that allows you to spread the cost of your heating oil over the year, making paying for your home heating oil one less thing to worry about!  If you are already on a savings plan, we will take the order total from your balance. If there is an outstanding balance, the extra payment must be taken on a card by calling our office on 01476 576200.  

Can I be a Loyalty Rewards Member and a Buying Group Member?

Yes, our loyalty rewards scheme is open to all customers who order a minimum of 500 litres of heating oil directly from WCF Chandlers within a 12-month period. 


Do I need to be at the property when my domestic heating oil is delivered? 

No, you don't need to be present for your delivery. All of our deliveries are metered, and we will leave a delivery note at your property confirming the amount dispensed.

How do I know what day my delivery will be as part of the group? 

Groups are set to be delivered between Monday and Sunday on a set week each month, so making sure they have access to both your property and oil tank will be very helpful. In order to help you plan for your delivery, we will send you a notification the day before we intend to come, via email or SMS.   

What’s the catch?
